There was a question on the AWGB forum at the weekend where someone asked why when brass power is mixed with CA glue once sanding it’s nice bright shiny brass, but when it’s mixed with epoxy resin and sanded it comes up green.

So I ran an experiment brass powder mixed with CA glue and brass mixed with epoxy resin and sure enough the CA mixed was shiny and the epoxy mix was green.

So then I did another mix of brass powder and epoxy but this time I kept adding the powder until I had a stiff putty type of mix and once this was fully dried and sanded it was nice and shiny.

You have to get more brass powder in the mix than epoxy resin so when your sanding you are sanding the brass rather than the resin.
