Turned this Olive root hollow form, 290mm x 140mm. It’s had several coats of beeswax to finish.

An exquisite piece ed! I love the shapes olive wood has and the voids in this are just perfect. Brilliant finish too sir! What kind of hollowing tools do you use?

I’m using the Crown Revolution at the moment but I’m going to try out the Sorby in the next week or so and then do a tool review.

Would be interested in finding out how the sorby works. I did have the revolution for a while, but my big lathe at the time packed up, so I didn’t really use it so sold it.

I’ve made a couple of homemade hollowers, with another one in mind. Nothing special, just suit the way I turn really.

    Look forward to the review
