I do like making boxes, and after buying sue harkers dvd on open segmenting, I was hooked.
I chose burr elm and sapele for their natural warmth and spalted beech for the other open segments for contrast and detail.
All finished with 50/50 cellulose sanding sealer and lemon oil.
Brody this looks very interesting and I like the concept I guess it takes a bit of skill with the gouge to get such a great finish.
I also like the way it’s displayed on a piece of slotted Unistrut 🙂
Cheers Ed. The one thing I had to get used to was how much faster you need to turn. Just felt counter intuitive. And yes, my photo backdrops are a little eccentric 🙂
