    Turned a bit of Ash to find it had a nice ripple pattern so decided to give it a coat of paint followed by a Chestnut Products Acrylic Gloss Lacquer finish. The bowl is 250mm x 13mm.

    You’ve got this colouring down to an art mate. Very deep and the finish is up to your usual high standard.  Great choice of wood too. A perfect canvas!

    Thanks for the comments chaps. When I started turning I said wood had to be wood but a year or so on my view point has changed somewhat and sometimes adding a bit of something or the other adds to the work. 🙂

    Couldn’t agree more Ed. Experimentation is part of the fun. The classic forms and finishes will always have their place, but I think for woodturning to have a future on a good level it needs to be pushed, the same for everything really.
