Well it’s been a while but now getting back in to my woodturning I’ve taken delivery of a load of very badly spalted Alder. I might put some in the shop but it’s not for the faint hearted !!!!
It needs a lot of glue and sanding sealer but the results are stunning the grain and pattern are something else.
This is a vase that I’ve just turned, 22″ (550mm) tall by 10″ (250mm) diameter, the wall thickness is just under 3/4″ (20mm).
