Glasscast 10 Ideal For Casting Pen Blanks
GlassCast 10 is a casting resin specifically made for small castings no thicker than 10mm.
Ideal for casting pen blanks, or use it to fill voids in wood.
Add some colour tints or colour pigments to the Glasscast 10 for some stunning effects.
Glasscast 10 dries as clear as water even in thicker sections. If you’ve added colour tints, pigments or metallic effects these show in great detail.
In some situations it may require flatting off and polishing once set for a perfect, glass like finish.
Why use GlassCast 10:
- Eliminates almost all trapped air issues. Wood should be sealed before use to ensure trapped air isn’t released.
- Best in class UV stability.
- Unbeatable clarity.
- Easy pour, just the job for fine casting.
- Will not shrink.
- VOC free.
- Rated for up to 50°C once set, so not suitable for coasters etc.
It is good practice to check your resin about 10 minutes after the pour. If you do see any air bubbles then gently pass a heat gun or blow torch over the surface of the resin, this will lift trapped air up and out.
It is preferred that you allow the resin to cure between 20°C and 25°C. Temperatures above or below that may result in less than optimum results.
It takes 48 hours for the resin surface to cure, at this point you can remove any mould. It will take a full 7 days to fully cure.
